#KeepTheLightOn

Faculty need to be a light. To be a beacon of good. Standing firmly against hate and bigotry, showing support for Jewish students through acts big and small.

Five Steps You Can Take — Right Now

Step 1

Sign up to receive a free FAAM box of materials, which includes a tote bag, laptop sticker, office poster, and more.

Step 2

#KeepTheLightOn in your office, showing Jewish students
that you stand with them and reminding others that
antisemitism is never acceptable.

To be environmentally friendly, we ask that you use eco-friendly lamps, LED light bulbs, or other sustainable lights and turn off the lights when you leave your office for the night.

Step 3

Post on your own social media about how you’ll #KeepTheLightOn and tag FAAM.

Step 5

Urge campus leaders to address campus antisemitism. Recommendations can include:

  1. Partnering with faculty and other campus stakeholders to develop and implement robust action plans.

  2. Appointing a Task Force, Advisory Council, or permanent Standing Committee to foster Jewish inclusion and improve the campus climate for Jewish and all students.

  3. Mandating antisemitism awareness training for administrators and students.

  4. Speaking out in support of academic freedom and intellectual exchange by opposing academic boycotts and the shuttering of study abroad and research collaborations with Israel’s higher education institutions.

  5. Offering guidance to faculty regarding their rights and responsibilities in the classroom.
